It moved fast at first, but was stretched in the middle and towards end. I could not understand what Pervaiz's character stood for in this entire novel? What did Rachel define? Why did not Shirin confided in her parents, after her father was released? Why Isaac Amin could not negotiate his release earlier - the way he did after suffering for so many months? The novel defined Iran, as a country hostile to minorities, post revolution. Thay may or may not be true - but what was the story line? What message did it try to pass on? I did not like the novel alot.
