Treasured Memories contains fascinating revelations about happenings within the inner corridors of power and the civil and military bureaucracies. The narrated events are a microcosm of the history of Pakistan from 1947 onward as seen through the eyes of a student,member of the elite Civil Service of Pakistan, a senior advocate of the superior courts, Federal Minister of Defence, Establishment and Law, Governor of the Punjab Province and a public-spirited citizen who has served as Chairman and Member of a large number of educational and medical institutions,think-tanks and social welfare organizations. An informed analysis of the causes that led to the break-up of Pakistan emerges from his account of service in what is now Bangladesh. His interactions with foreign heads of states and government show the human side of these persons seldom if ever, seen in their public projections.
