William and the Outlaws had to have their revenge on the awful Clarence for gettng them into trouble. And they did- it was being arrested by the village policeman which was the final straw for Clarence.
But William was also in difficulties when he rashly promised the Outlaws that, before the day was out, he would buy a brand new set cricket stumps. Where on earth was he to get the money from?
